VULCANIZER
JAILED ONE YEAR
An 18 year old
vulcanizer Emmanuel Osei has been sentenced to imprisonment for one year with
hard labour today at the Obuasi Magesterial Court for causing unlawful harm to
one Omari Stephen, a drinking bar attendant with a knife at Old Estate a suburb
of Obuasi.
According to the
prosecutor Chief Inspector Albert Anani, the incident occurred between the
hours of 1:00 am and 2: 00am on 8th April 2016, when the complainant
was then returning from nature’s call and saw the culprit tempering with his
drinking bar’s gate with a pinch bar.
Complainant shouted at
him and he started running away, he chased him up to a point and capture him.
Whilst struggling to arrest him, the culprit removed a knife from his back
pocket and used it to inflict wounds at the complainant’s back, right shoulder
and nose the complainant became weak and the culprit managed to run away and
went into hiding.
Complainant reported
the case to the police and medical forms were issued to him to attend hospital
for treatment.
On 6th May
2016 he was spotted by the complainant and with the help of others the culprit
was subsequently arrested and handed him over to the police.
After investigations
the culprit was charged with the offence and arranged before court for
judgement.
