KWABENAKWA CRIES FOR ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF POWER

The people of Kwabenakwa a suburb of Obuasi have called on Government for adequate supply of power.

Kwabenakwa is one of the old towns in Obuasi which has seen a major extension, those living at the new site are facing lots of challenges in power supply.




Speaking with Time News Team a local radio station at obuasi, they said they have been experiencing low current almost everyday, sometimes they cannot use some electrical appliances such as blender, computer, microwave, iron,increment in light bills etc.

In an interview with the Assembly Member Hon Anokye Justice, he says most residents use bamboo sticks to tap electricity to their various homes.

“Because of the inadequate supply of electricity poles by the ECG most residents use bamboo sticks to tap power to their various homes which creates inconvenience to the town.” he said.

He also called on ECG to supply them with a transformer.
